Tương tự cách âm nhạc được hình thành qua những nhịp ngắt – nối của âm thanh, dự án cải tạo này phát triển ý niệm tiếp diễn không gian bằng việc tổ chức các ngắt – nối trên cùng một ngôn ngữ kiến trúc của đường kẻ.
Trên nền kiến trúc Hiện Đại hiện trạng tại Tân Định, các can thiệp mới không thay thế mà tái hệ thống, kích hoạt những đối thoại và chuyển tiếp giữa cũ và mới. Không gian được phân lớp nhẹ nhàng và liên kết bởi hai “Mạch Nối” (Pulse Line) ở tầng trệt và lầu một, dẫn dắt trình tự công năng của The Audio People và khơi mở những trải nghiệm
Hai Mạch Nối ở tầng trệt và lầu một dẫn dắt trải nghiệm qua các lớp “ngắt nhịp” không gian. Theo hướng từ ngoài vào trong, Mạch Nối tầng trệt kết nối sáu thành tố kiến trúc mang các công năng không gian cụ thể: hệ quầy Soundbar (thành tố neo giữ) – với hai mảng sàn gạch đất nung (các khoảng đệm) – với bước cầu thang bê tông (nơi chuyển tiếp) – với hệ kệ gỗ và tường gạch trưng bày (những giới hạn định hình không gian). Những hệ khung hoa sắt hay cửa lá sách cũ được tái sử dụng theo ngôn ngữ và công năng mới, tiếp nối thêm trạng thái “sống” của ngôi nhà hiện trạng.
Ngược lại, theo hướng từ trong ra ngoài, Mạch Nối của lầu một kết nối bốn cuộc đối thoại giữa bốn cặp thành tố kiến trúc tương tự nhau: vườn gạch tích hợp với lỗ khoét vách vịn cầu thang (nơi hai viên gạch xây cách nhau hơn năm mươi năm trò chuyện) – tới lớp cửa tích hợp hệ kệ gỗ (nơi hai thành tố cùng công năng trò chuyện) – tới hệ hai quầy Soundbars (nơi hai khối đặc tách rời tương tự nhau trò chuyện) – tới vườn gạch tích hợp với ban công (nơi hai viên gạch xây trong-ngoài trò chuyện). Hai khoảng vườn ở hai cực trung chuyển không gian từ hẻm sau xuyên ra đường trước, tạo sự giao thoa với trạng thái “sống” của khu phố xung quanh.
Một số thành tố kiến trúc được sơn xanh nhằm khai mở những điểm quan sát hay hành vi sử dụng mới: Vách kính khung sắt sơn xanh ở lối vào điều hướng ánh nhìn ra những ngôi nhà đối diện cùng tông màu; mảng xanh trên cột sắt gần cầu thang là điểm vịn tay để quay người, hay ô hoa sắt xanh ban công lầu một là vị trí ô cửa thoát hiểm. Các mảng chọn lọc để sơn xanh trên cả cũ và mới này góp phần hòa hợp các lớp thời gian khác nhau của công trình.
Spatial Circuit – The Audio People Store

Inspired by the way music is structured through pauses and continuities, Spatial Circuit explores spatial sequencing through moments of interruption and connection, articulated by a consistent architectural language of lines.
Set within an existing Modernist house in Tân Định, the project does not replace the original architecture but re-organizes it. New interventions re-systematize the existing structure, activating dialogues between old and new while allowing spatial transitions to unfold gradually. The space is lightly layered and connected by two pulse lines on the ground floor and first floor, guiding movement, function, and experience throughout The Audio People Store.
On the ground floor, the pulse line leads visitors from the street inward through a sequence of spatial “beats”: the soundbar counter as an anchoring element; terracotta tile flooring as buffer zones; a concrete stair tread as a transitional threshold; and wooden shelving with exposed brick walls that define and frame the display areas. Existing steel grilles and louvered doors are retained and reprogrammed, extending the lived condition of the original house into a new spatial use.
On the first floor, the pulse line reverses direction, connecting a series of dialogues between paired architectural elements: a brick garden and a cut-out stair balustrade, where bricks built more than fifty years apart meet ; an integrated door-and-shelving system combining shared functions; a pair of separated yet comparable soundbar counters; and a brick garden connected to the balcony, linking interior and exterior spaces. Positioned at opposite ends, the two gardens mediate movement from the rear alley to the front street, allowing the interior to intersect with the everyday life of the neighborhood.
Selective elements are painted green to introduce new viewpoints and modes of interaction. A green steel-framed glass partition at the entrance directs sightlines toward neighboring houses of similar tones; a green-painted steel column near the stair becomes a tactile turning point; and a green steel grille on the first-floor balcony functions as an emergency exit. Applied across both existing and new elements, this selective coloration helps reconcile different temporal layers within the project.
Spatial Circuit extends the experience of sound into architectural space. Beyond product display, The Audio People Store is conceived as a multisensory environment where architecture supports and modulates the acts of listening, seeing, touching, and feeling.
